1932 Electric Bath Fights Disease
SOME London hospitals are now equipped with the latest in scientific methods of combatting disease, the electro-therapeutic bath.
The diseased patient sits comfortably, as the photo, with his hands and feet in small tubs.
The artificial fever is produced in the body by the passage of an electric current which combats the disease germs and hastens recovery.
The electric current is run into the solution in the tubs through electrodes.
The intensity of the current can be altered by rheostats on the control board shown in the photo.
Thatcher mum on report of Electrified Bath Water
From The Milwaukee Sentinel - May 20, 1989
Margaret Thatcher's office refused to comment Friday on an American magazine report that she keeps her looks by taking electrically charged baths, but London's tabloids plunged into the story.
The newspapers quoted a story in Vanity Fair magazine as saying that the 62-year-old British Prime Minister visited an Indian woman practitioner of an ancient therapy called Ayurveda.
The magazine said she paid $960 a session for treatments including mud therapy, natural herbs and oils and the baths, which are charged with 0.3 amps of electricity.
Spa Electric Bath
A combination of the beneficial effects of electricity and hydrotherapy. Treatment is administered in waters of different temperatures.
Direct current is conducted into a bath tub filled with medicinal water. The treatment improves circulation and reduces pain.
It is mainly used for diseases that affect more than one joints or body areas at the same time.
It is an excellent remedy for pains radiating from the neck or the waist into limbs, and for neural inflammation.
Ionic Foot Bath
Ionic foot baths represent an innovative new technique for detoxifying the body, relieving strains and restoring the feeling of well being.
The body stores tissue acid wastes, chemicals, yeast, bacteria, molds & fungus, and heavy metal residues. Excessive quantities of acid waste products such as diacetic, lactic, pyruvic, uric, carbonic, acetic, butyric, and hepatic acids can accumulate in our bodies. Acid wastes attack joints, tissues, muscles, organs and glands, causing minor to major dysfunction.
When this happens, physical, emotional, and mental discomforts, illness and disease are the result! Pimples, rashes, dark circles under the eyes, headaches, swollen joints, yellow, green and blotched complexions, as well as colds, flues, ear infections, allergies, arthritis, and even more serious illnesses such as organ diseases and cancers, often indicate a buildup of toxic wastes and an acid pH inside the body.
Ionic foot baths are basically foot bath spas that use electric current to pull out toxins from the body.
It's generally believed the ions generated by the foot bath travel through the body and possibly attach themselves to many different toxic substances, thereby neutralizing their positive or negative charges. Neutralized particles are pulled out of your body through the feet via osmosis.
Detoxification of the body is essential to maintain health and high energy as well as to avoid disease.
As a result of the ion cleanse foot bath process, heavy metals and other toxins are released into the bath water while at the same time positive ions are being produced leading to a slight and beneficial increase in the user's body pH. A perfect way to relax and detox at the same time.
Simplified 9 volt battery HowTo from ehow.com;
1. Attach one end of each wire to an alligator clip. These alligator clips can be purchased at most craft supply stores.
2. Attach the alligator clips to each of the spoons, creating two separate hookups. It is recommended by some that you use only stainless steel spoons, since stainless steel is best for conducting the low level of electricity used in the ionic detox foot bath.
3. Add 1/2 tsp. sea salt and enough warm water to cover your foot to each of the two bowls. This should be about 3 inches of water in each bowl. Make sure the bowls are large enough for you to put each of your feet into.
4. Attach one of the wires to the positive terminal on the 9-volt battery. Attach the other wire to the negative terminal on the 9-volt battery.
5. Place the positively charged spoon into one of the bowls of salt water. Place the negatively charged spoon into the other bowl of salt water.
6. Place one of your feet into the positively charged bowl of water and the other foot into the negatively charged bowl of water. Leave your feet in the ionic detox foot bath for at least 10 minutes. In about 2 or 3 minutes, you should be able to see the water begin to change color, and small particles should appear floating about in the water (floaties).
For which I, like Tim Allen in Home Improvement, would want to say 'MORE POWER!'
Or is it just one big hoax?
The process is called "electrocoagulation." Essentially the device is coagulating the colloidal minerals and organic materials (such as algae) which are normally held in suspension, and bringing them to the surface. This process has been around for decades. It's used to treat wastewater in 3rd world countries. This home "detox" and others such as "Alimtox" are nothing but a hoax. It's modern snake oil!
There's no doubt that the placebo effect may work on some people, but the machine is definitely not extracting impurities from the water. In the video, it's already explained that when you run an electrical current through two pieces of iron, it rusts and brings that gunk to the surface. The amount of gunk is always the same, regardless of whether or not you have your feet in the bath.
This is purely my experience with my MexiStim based on Lee Crock's 'fountain of youth', electric bath idea. I bought a cheapie inflatable kid pool for about $8, aired it up and filled with water and Epsom Salts as described.
I placed my MexiStim on a step stool which was higher than the pool, at a distance of about 3-4 feet from the pool, I connected the cable for the aluminum wirescreen and turned on the MexiStim in Battery ONLY mode. Then I hung the wirescreen over the edge and into the water.
It was big enough that I could lay in the water like a beached shark, with my legs hanging over the side.
The MexiStim can be operated on batteries without needing the ac/dc adapter.
I've tried it about 5 times though I only sat in the pool for about an hour each time which is roughly 4 cycles (every 15 minutes) of the MexiStim. I felt a slight tingling but it was relaxing to sit in the tub and I felt good after getting out.
I need to find the time to do this more and document any changes. Fortunately I'm in pretty good health so it's not a necessity for me, but I had to at least try it. The MexiStim/Energy Cleaner technology seems to be more effective when there are known health issues. I think if you are in decent health, it is harder to detect any changes.
Lee said people who had a lot of cell toxins would produce a dark, smelly urine the first 1-3 nights of use. I had that the first time I used my MexiStim about 8 years ago but not since. That is why he recommended to drink lots of fresh water to aid in flushing out toxins. That seems to help but at the price of having to get up to pee more than usual.
I'm not recommending anyone try this energizer/fountain of youth experiment, I just thought I would write up my experiment and let you decide for yourself.
Lee Crock's Fountain of Youth
Here is what was posted on the defunct crockfountain.htm page for the battery version Lee sold as the Energy Cleaner.
The energized bath uses a hot tub, bathtub or kiddie pool with Epson Salts added to increase the alkalinity of the water. The aluminum pad from the energy cleaner is placed in the water to make an energizing bath.
It is advised to soak in the energized bath 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening.
Make your own energized bath by placing the aluminum screen in the water of the hot tub, bath tub or kiddie pool, hooking it to the energy cleaner while you soak.
It was suggested by Lee Crock that the water is a good electric conductor connecting the universal energy signal to every cell in your skin and the body.
He wrote that it will jump start every cell submerged in the water causing every cell to clean out all the old sludge stuck in the cells that have been making you feel and look old.
By bathing for 45 minutes it will discharge the cell taking 15 minutes and refilling the cell for 15 minutes then discharging them again for 15 minutes, leaving your whole body clean on the inside as well as the outside.
You will feel and look like a new and clean body. This is similar to changing the oil in your car, allowing it to run better and last longer. By maintaining the body it will reverse the early aging of the body.
Alternative science covers a wide range of interests. Generally, it includes gravity control, free energy, electronic healing techniques, all forms of energy conversion, antigravity, levitation, overunity, time travel (as well as slowing down or speeding up local time).
